Green waste

Council has a green waste collection service within the townships of Avoca and Beaufort.

  • A 240-litre green waste bin with a lime-green lid was provided to households within the serviced areas.
  • The green waste bin service has improved the ability for residents of Avoca and Beaufort to remove green waste from their property.

This service has allowed for the recovery and use of green waste by the capping of old tip sites and use around existing transfer stations with weed reduction, reducing greenhouse gas liability, and reducing contamination of recyclables.

Approximately 900 cubic metres of green waste is collected annually.
