Drought assistance information now available online
Published on 10 June 2025
Pyrenees Shire Council is providing its drought affected residents with a wide range of information about available support services.
A page on Council’s website highlights financial, mental health and wellbeing, and on-farm technical supports available across a variety of organisations.
These include:
- Rural Financial Counselling Service
- RuralAid
- The National Centre for Farmer Health
- Agriculture Victoria’s dry seasons and drought support information
- Agriculture Victoria’s technical and decision-making support program
- Farm Household Allowance
- Farm Business Resilient Program
Information is also available on the latest On-Farm Drought Infrastructure Grants and available Emergency Services and Volunteers Fund (ESVF) rebates, news and Frequently Asked Questions.
Pyrenees Shire Mayor Cr Tanya Kehoe said it was decided to combine information about the ESVF with drought support resources to provide residents with readily available help online.
“We know our communities are doing it really tough and we wanted to give them as much support as possible,” Cr Kehoe said.
“We think having information at your fingertips without having to search for it will be invaluable for our residents, and particularly our farmers who are facing yet another natural disaster.
“I would urge anyone seeking any sort of assistance during this very difficult time to go to pyrenees.vic.gov.au to find the vital help they are looking for.”
