Beaufort’s Livingstone Street has been upgraded, including the installation of new underground drainage, kerb and channelling and asphalting.
The $250,000 project was funded with a combination of Local Roads and Community Infrastructure Program, Roads to Recovery Program and Pyrenees Shire Council Capital Works funding.
Council has upgraded about 170 metres of Livingstone Street over several weeks to improve the road’s amenity and remove drainage issues.
Pyrenees Shire Acting Chief Executive Officer Kathy Bramwell said the works have created not only an improved road surface but also enhanced drainage in the area.
“Livingstone Street has become a popular residential area and it’s important to make sure we provide adequate road infrastructure to support development and growth in our Shire,” Ms Bramwell said.
