Take our survey on Pyrenees Shire's economic future
Published on 10 November 2025
Pyrenees Shire Council is developing an Economic Development and Investment Attraction Strategy to guide the growth of jobs, business, and investment across the Shire over the next five years.
As part of the strategy’s development, a short, confidential survey is now open here, seeking community and business feedback on priorities such as infrastructure, workforce, local supply, sustainability, and tourism. The survey will remain open until Friday 12 December.
Pyrenees Shire CEO Jim Nolan encouraged residents and business owners to participate.
“Council has a strong desire to support business and attract investment to drive economic growth in Pyrenees Shire and shape the future of our community. Your voice will help set the direction for our region. What opportunities do you see for growing business, jobs, and investment in Pyrenees Shire? Share your ideas and help shape our future,” Mr Nolan said.
The strategy will identify opportunities to grow the local economy, focusing on — but not limited to — agriculture, construction, manufacturing (wine), tourism, and emerging industries. It will also include an action plan outlining priority initiatives for Council to deliver.
As part of the strategy’s development, Council has also formed an Economic Task Force (ETF) from business leaders following an Expression of Interest process. The ETF will provide guidance and help identify priority economic development actions.
