Poetic Portraits Creative Workshop

Pyrenees Shire in partnership with RMIT and Deakin Universities is calling for residents of Beaufort and surrounds, of any cultural background, to be part of the Poetic Portraits project.

The project aims to use poetry to connect with others and instil a sense of sharing and belonging. As well as generating creative outcomes, including a publication and exhibition, the project aims to bring people together, who share a community and a neighbourhood, and to give them creative tools to enable both self-expression and the sharing of lived experiences within the region.

The workshop will take place at Beaufort Community Resource Centre on Saturday 6 May from 10am – 3.30pm (lunch provided) with an online follow up session 3 weeks later.

Final poems by participants, along with art work or portraits of the participants produced by a local visual artist, will be presented in an exhibition and book publication, both of which will be launched later in the year at the Beaufort Community Resource Centre.
