Seeking Community Feedback on Council's Election Period Policy UpdateAugust 2024
We are seeking your feedback on Council’s updated Election Period Policy. This Policy clarifies what the Council can or cannot do during an election period (formerly called the caretaker period) to ensure complete transparency and assurance that council resources are not being used to support an existing Councillor in their election campaigns for the upcoming local government general election.
The Policy clearly outlines the limitations imposed on council decision-making and community engagement during the election period which starts on 17 September 2024 and ends on election day – 26 October 2024.
The Policy was recently amended to reflect the relevant timeline dates around the 2024 election.
You are now warmly invited to provide any feedback you may have on the policy – in particular if you think that we should be including anything else. Feedback can be provided via the contact form to the right of this page, by calling Council on 1300 797 363 or via email at pyrenees@pyrenees.vic.gov.au
Submissions are now closed.
