Christmas and New Year arrangements 2022

Council Offices, Beaufort

Council offices will be closed from 3.00pm on Friday 23 December 2022 and will re-open on Tuesday 3 January 2023. 

Resource / Information Centres

The Avoca Information and Community Centre and the Beaufort Community Resource Centre will be open as follows:

  • Friday 23 December 2022 - 10.00am to 3.00pm
  • Saturday 24 December 2022 (Christmas Eve) – 10.00am-1.00pm
  • Sunday 25 December 2022 (Christmas Day) – Closed
  • Monday 26 December 2022 (Boxing Day) public holiday – Closed
  • Tuesday 27 December 2022 public holiday – 10.00am-1.00pm
  • Wednesday 28 December 2022 –10.00am-5.00pm
  • Thursday 29 December 2022 – 10.00am-5.00pm
  • Friday 30 December 2022 – 10.00am-5.00pm
  • Saturday 31 December 2022 (New Year's Eve) – 10.00am-1.00pm
  • Sunday 1 January 2023 (New Year's Day) – Closed
  • Monday 2 January 2023 public holiday – 10.00am-1.00pm
  • Tuesday 3 January 2023 – return to normal weekday hours (10.00am-5.00pm)

Pyrenees Community Care Support Staff

Support staff will provide personal care services only between Christmas and New Year. 

Waste Collection

Rubbish and recycling is collected on public holidays with the exception of Christmas Day and New Year's Day. As Christmas Day and New Year's Day fall on a Sunday in 2022, bin collection will not be affected by holiday closures.

Transfer Stations

Council Transfer Stations in Avoca, Beaufort and Snake Valley will be closed on Christmas Day and New Years' Day.

Municipal Depots

Municipal depots will be closed from Thursday 22 December 2022 and will re-open on Tuesday 3 January 2023.

 

Emergency Contact Numbers After Hours

For Council-related issues such as local laws (animals) roads and drainage, please call 1300 PYRENEES (1300 797 363) and you will be redirected. You will need to leave a message, and the on-call officer will assess the issue and action it if required.
