Beaufort is on Wathaurung and Eastern Maar Country
Pyrenees Shire Council is conducting traffic management works at the intersection of the Goldfields Recreation Reserve and the school bus entry/exit.
These works are being completed as a trial to help improve safety at the intersection between the recreation reserve entry/exit, school bus entry/exit and service lane.
The works have been approved by the Department of Transport and Planning (DTP) and are not a part of the recreation reserve master planning being coordinated by Council or the recycle water pipeline works being coordinated by CHW.
Line marking and signage is being added to help direct drivers, as shown in the image below.
The effectiveness of the island will be monitored before deciding whether to make it permanent.
The trial is part of a broader traffic management and safety plan for the entrance.
