The main two components include drainage upgrades and streetscape beautification.
These works include drainage construction along Perry Road and Burge Street, planting of street trees within Navarre Street and Perry Road and the construction of kerb/channel within Navarre Street.
Tree species selected based on community input and ability to thrive in the local climate will be planted to enhance the streetscape. An avenue of “Euky dwarf” flowering gums will be planted along Perrys Road, between Navarre Street and Burge Street. Existing vegetation near the corner of Burge Street and Perrys Road will be removed to make way for the new trees. Navarre Street itself will be lined with two varieties of Crepe Myrtle, bringing a burst of white and pink flowers in late summer.
Majority of the works have been funded from the Australian Government's Local Roads and Community Infrastructure Program with the final road seal being funded from the Roads to Recovery Program.
