Pyrenees Shire Council is welcoming visitors to the region this Easter with an Easter Hunt Competition.

Tourists and locals alike are encouraged to spend time wandering the Pyrenees, taking in all the region has to offer, including dropping in and visiting the different business in the area.

“There’s so much to do in the Pyrenees from indulging in award-winning wineries, exploring nature parks and forests, visiting unique galleries and everything in between. This is a great opportunity to not only visit our wonderful area, but to also go into the running to win an incredible prize,” said Pyrenees Shire Council Mayor Cr Ron Eason.

Visitors will need to download the Visit Pyrenees app, visit in April and use the app to scan the QR codes found at businesses across the region for a chance to win a Pyrenees getaway. The more QR codes users scan, the more opportunities there are to win.

The competition will run from Monday 3 April to Sunday 30 April. The winner will be selected at random on Monday 1 May.

The prize is valued at $1020 and includes:

• two nights’ accommodation at Avoca Cottages for four people

• Summerfield Winery dining package for four people

• six bottles of local Pyrenees wines

• a family ticket to Lake Goldsmith Steam Rally

• an Easter egg hamper

The Visit Pyrenees app gives users information about places to eat and stay, activities and sights to see, and to also helps visitors to plan their journey and share their itinerary with family or friends. To participate in the competition, visitors need to download the app and then select the competition and scan the QR codes at the businesses they are visiting.

“The official Visit Pyrenees app from Pyrenees Shire Council is here to help visitors uncover the Pyrenees like a local and feel at home while visiting. We look forward to welcoming you over Easter and throughout April,” Cr Eason said.
