Pyrenees Shire Council has released a Community Resilience Survey to gain residents’ input on their preparedness and capacity around disaster and emergency events.

The survey forms part of the Safer Together Bushfire Resilience Project and the Pyrenees Shire Resilience Plan development.

Under the Victorian Government’s Safer Together Program – Strengthening Local Government Partnerships, Pyrenees Shire Council received $300,000 to deliver four collaborative and community focused projects to assist in reducing bushfire risk and building community preparedness.

The four projects include:

  • A Pyrenees Shire indigenous fire wise plant guide
  • Landscaping Educational Workshops
  • Community led conversations around disaster and emergency preparedness
  • A Bushfire Resilient Homes Expo in October 2026

The survey can be found here: Pyrenees Shire Community Resilience Survey
