Avoca’s Reagan Wardlaw got the confidence boost she was looking for through her participation in the Western Bulldogs Leadership Project.

The Year 12 student said she felt a lot more confident in meeting new people following the program in 2019.

“I feel confident that I could go to Uni and make friends… if I hadn’t had the Western Bulldogs program I don’t think I would have the confidence to go to a situation where I didn’t know anyone,” Miss Wardlaw said.

She said she could easily see where the program would help her with future job opportunities as well.

Miss Wardlaw not only met local participants from the program, but also made statewide connections at the two camps.

“They both included an AFL game with the Western Bulldogs, and they were amazing. It brought the whole 120 of us together from throughout Victoria,” she said.

“I’m still connected to them now, so that’s got to be the best part.”

Applications are now open for Pyrenees students to take part in the Western Bulldogs Leadership Program.

Students aged 14 to 16 are encouraged to apply for the hands-on leadership program.

Reagan was awarded the You Inspire Me Award at the graduation ceremony of the program. She was nominated by her group peers for the award.
