Council is the responsible authority for recovery following an emergency. As we move through the recovery phases, you will find information on this webpage.

Lexton-Ben Major Fire 2019 Recovery Information

Residents impacted by the fire and wishing to speak to Council about their recovery are asked to get in touch via phone between 9am and 4pm.

Recovery Newsletter

Pyrenees Shire Council has produced a newsletter including information for those impacted by the Lexton-Ben Major Fire of December 2019.

The newsletter includes fire facts, communication information, recovery updates and other useful information for those impacted.

Council focuses on recovery following Lexton-Ben Major fire

Pyrenees Shire Council is now focusing on recovery following the Lexton-Ben Major Fire of December 2019.
Council is developing a recovery implementation plan aimed at assisting the community following the impacts of the fire, from assisting with temporary accommodation, animal welfare, agricultural impacts, managing donations, ongoing personal support for those impacted and more.
